The concrete floor for the new dining hall was poured on November 11.  The board decided to add a dye to the concrete, which will then be sealed and floor covering will never be needed.  The board picked a reddish-brown color.  The contractor building the building hopes to start construction next week.

Parke County Bridge Festival & Dining Hall Update
Posted October 22, 2008
We would like to thank Bill and Dorothy Reberger and Paul and Shirley Reberger who set up the concession trailer during the annual Parke County Covered Bridge Festival at the Red Barn on Highway 59 north of Brazil. They served up hot dogs, hamburgers, fried potatoes, ham and beans, and chicken and noodles to hungry festival goers. The money earned will be used on the new Dining Hall.

Members of the board have been busy putting rock fill inside the foundation of the new dining hall.  The plumber is now working on installing the drains needed in the kitchen.  Once this work is completed, the concrete floor will be poured and work will begin on the walls.  Stay tuned for further construction updates.

Brazil Popcorn Festival Update
Posted October 6, 2008

The campground board would like to thank everyone who helped during the annual Clay County Popcorn Festival the weekend of October 3-5th. We served up ham and beans cooked over an open fire, along with fried potatoes. Something new this year was corn bread made out of popcorn meal. We even made some in a Dutch oven in the fire. Sunny Anderson from the Food Network was visiting the festival and we were one of several food vendors that was filmed and interviewed. Sunny sampled our ham and beans, and really enjoyed our popcorn corn bread. The money that was made will go toward the new dining hall.
